Encrypt a memory card
1 Select Encryption off > Encrypt and save key.
2 Type in a password to protect your encryption key. The password must have at
least 4 characters, and you can use upper and lower case letters, numbers, and
symbols.
3 Name your encryption key to help you find the correct key when you need it.
Tip: You can also use an existing key or encrypt your memory card without a key.
Decrypt the phone memory
Select Encryption off.
Decrypt a memory card
Select Encryption on > Decrypt.
Tip: To decrypt your memory card and switch encryption off, select Encryption on >
Decrypt & disable encryption.
Prepare your phone for recycling
If you buy a new phone, or otherwise want to dispose of your phone, Nokia
recommends that you recycle your phone. Beforehand, remove all personal
information and content from your phone.
Remove all content
1 Back up the content you want to keep to a compatible memory card or to a
compatible computer.
2 Close all active connections and calls.
3 Select
> Settings and Phone > Phone management > Factory settings >
Delete data and restore.
4 If prompted, enter the security code.
5 Your phone switches off and then on again. Check carefully that all your personal
content, such as contacts, pictures, music, videos, notes, messages, mails,
presentations, games and other installed applications have been removed.
Content and information stored on the memory card or SIM card is not removed.
Remember to remove your memory and SIM card from the phone.
